Mika Blauensteiner was born in Vienna/Austria, After graduating at Vienna’s school for fashion and design at Schloss Hetzendorf in the 1980s, she took acting lessons, was a singer in her Band and acted in Austrian films such as Stefan Ruzowitzky’s debut film Tempo. In addition, she created stage costumes for pop singer Prince in 1992, worked as Model for Jean Paul Gaultier, and had her own TV show in Austria. At the same time she worked for international advertising agencies as head of Creative before her passion for the Stage returned in 2009. Since then, she has worked international such as Seattle Opera, Oslo Opera, London ENO but mainly at the Opera Graz as associate director/revival director with Peter Konwitschny, Johannes Erath, Lotte De Beer, Calixto Bieto, Oliver Tambosi, Steven Lawless and many others. Since 2017 she is found on Comedy-Stages together with Barbara Balldini and Solo. 2019 her first Solo-Comedy-Show "Miss Verständnis" (Miss Understanding) took place with which she was on tour until 2021. Since November 2021 she works with VOLKSOPER WIEN as Artistic Productionmanager.
